Inspired by the vivid beauty of my home in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, by the eros of senses, both the human and non-human centered parts of being alive; by art, literature, history, music, and the emotional entanglements of being.
My work conjures and explores individual and collective physical experiences, alongside the swirling, evolving, and contradictory emotional aspects of moving through this life, and living in a world full of both the grotesque and the beautiful, especially that which hides in the cracks of things. How can we transform pain, isolation, sickness, longing, endless spiraling into a thing of significance—visually? How may we seek evolution through the art experience and process?
I don't put limits to what I represent as an artist and what my brand should be. I also believe there's a naturally strong cohesion in the work I create.
Recently, we at Corporeal Writing collaborated in creating the Corporeal Oracles Deck, with 52 paintings by myself of the individual cards, tin and card back art by Lidia Yuknavitch, and guide book by the spectcularly talented entire squad.
My adult coloring book, The Stoner Babes(Microcosm, 2018) has gone into 4 printings, and is sold worldwide.
I have had writing published in various online publications, some of which can be found here.
Furthermore and past-tense, I spent over a decade as a custom clothier bringing to life art through cloth for individual humans including, gowns, dresses, suits, children’s wear and femme ready to wear garments. My life as a fashion designer was a beloved time, but the paintbrush and canvases called to me and I haven’t looked back since I left the fabric store. Although, I do occasionally make pieces for myself and loved ones.
I am currently working on a novel, because why the hell not?
