Hello dear readers,
This past Winter has been a grueling one, long dark, cold and wet. SO WET! I've been working on a variety of projects lately, and I do adore variety. Now that it's Spring again I feel revived by the beauty that has bloomed all over the city. My roses are about to burst open and paint my yard with color.
Before I can give more detailed descriptions and photo diaries of all I've been creating, let me give you some sneak peekage. I recently wrapped up what was one of my favorite dream projects ever! I had the honor of painting flowers on to a wedding gown. Julia, who owns and operates the wonderful Silhouette Studio contacted me after she saw me at CONTENT back in November. She asked me if I'd be in to it, and I said hellz to the damn YES!
I've also taken my oil paints out of the lonely cupboard they were hidden in, in my basement. I've been working (slowly) on my first oil piece in over 7 years. My heart and soul thanks me. Ha. Here's a shot of it in process.
When I posted this on instagram a while back, I was stunned to see that the quite talented Gina Campbell was inspired by this work for some makeup art. Not only did she nail it, but seeing my work inspire other artists is such a huge compliment. My eyes filled with tears as I viewed this while visiting a dull gallery downtown. Ha.
I've also been doing some other secret projects that I can't reveal just yet, but I will as soon as I can!
Stay tuned and stay in love with the beauty in the world.
